Deep Tissue Massage

Whilst traditional / Swedish massage is the most requested treatment in the UK, Deep Tissue Massage is better for the treatment of small muscular injuries or chronic muscular dysfunction. However Deep Tissue not only varies from traditional massage in this respect.

Deep Tissue Massage focuses on the deeper structures & fascia of muscles. The therapist will apply a strong, focused & constant pressure against the muscle until it bounces back into a more relaxed state, thus providing relief to deep areas of muscular tension, knots & adhesions.

The masseuse will not only use their hands to achieve this but also their forearms & elbows as necessary. This style of massage may well be a little uncomfortable but should always be within the clients’ tolerance levels. The therapist will communicate with the client throughout the treatment to ensure that this remains the case. However should be pressure become more that you can comfortably tolerate, please inform your masseuse as the muscles must remain in a relatively relaxed state in order for the treatment to be successful.

Deep Tissue Massage helps to:

  • Loosen tight muscle tissues.
  • Release toxins from the muscles &
  • Allow blood & thereby oxygen to circulate more freely
